Carbon Steel Plate Sheet

Carbon steel plate is a flat steel material that is poured with molten steel and pressed after cooling.

Carbon steel plates are flat, rectangular, and can be rolled directly or cut from wide strips (coils). Carbon steel plates are classified according to thickness, thin steel plates < 4 mm (thinnest 0.2 mm), medium-thick steel plates 4-60 mm, and extra-thick steel plates 60-115 mm.

The width of the thin plate is 500~1500 mm; the width of the thick plate is 600~3000 mm.

Carbon steel plates are divided into hot-rolled plates and cold-rolled plates.

Hot-rolled sheets can be divided into ordinary carbon structural steel, low-alloy steel, and alloy steel according to their materials and properties. According to different uses, it can be divided into steel for cold forming, structural steel, automobile structural steel, steel for corrosion-resistant structure, steel for mechanical structure, steel for welding gas cylinders and pressure vessels, steel for pipelines, etc.

Cold-rolled sheet is a product obtained by rolling hot-rolled coils at room temperature below the recrystallization temperature.

Cold-rolled coil sheet is the abbreviation of ordinary carbon structural steel cold-rolled coil, also known as cold-rolled coil, commonly known as cold plate, sometimes mistakenly written as cold-rolled plate. The cold plate is a hot-rolled strip of ordinary carbon structural steel, which is further cold-rolled to make a steel plate with a thickness of less than 4mm.

Application Area 

Hot-rolled plate products have excellent properties such as high strength, good toughness, easy processing and good weldability, and are widely used in the manufacture of cold-rolled substrates, ships, automobiles, bridges, construction, machinery, oil pipelines, pressure vessels, etc. industry.

Due to rolling at room temperature, no iron oxide scale is produced. Therefore, the cold plate has good surface quality and high dimensional accuracy. Coupled with annealing treatment, its mechanical properties and process properties are superior to hot-rolled thin steel plates. In many fields, especially In the field of home appliance manufacturing, it has gradually replaced hot-rolled steel sheets.
